About This Experience

This is the option for people who would rather not get in the water. The Pride of Key West is described as the island’s only glass-bottom boat, a 65-foot catamaran with glass windows into the water. Departures are listed at 12:00 and 14:00, plus a sunset trip at 16:00. Daytime tours run 1 hour 45 minutes, and sunset departures run a little over 2 hours in some seasons.

You watch the reef through the glass from an air-conditioned viewing cabin, or step out onto the sundeck. The listing says the windows give continuous viewing for all passengers, and that the reef supports over 300 species of tropical fish, plus rays and sea turtles. A guide explains the reef ecosystem and points out marine life. Sunset passengers receive a glass of champagne; you must be 21 to consume alcohol.

What you cannot do: there is no swimming or snorkeling on this trip, and the listing describes none. What you see through the glass depends on the day. Fury’s FAQ points non-swimmers to this boat. Many Keys reefs lost coral in the 2023 heatwave, so expect fish and some coral rather than thick coral gardens. Prices start from $64 per person (checked November 2026).

Honest caveats: if conditions are unfavorable the captain may choose another location, and the boat operates in most weather, so dress for the day. Pets are not allowed, and every guest signs a liability waiver. Guests 14 and under need a chaperone 18 or older to accompany them, with a paid ticket. The listing carries Viator’s standard free-cancellation flag; check the cutoff time on the booking page before you pay.

What Travelers Say

Rated 3.9/5 by 618 verified Viator travelers.

Wonderful staff and very knowledgeable on the reef. This is our second sunset cruise with Fury. Seeing the sunset from a boat on the water is better than watching from Mallory Square. We didn’t see as many pretty fish as the first time but, the wind was unusually high that day making the sand around the reef cloudy. It’s still our favorite thing to do in Key West!

I booked this tour because I wanted a sunset cruise that wasn't a booze cruise. Very family friendly activity. Guides were knowledgeable about the marine life. They did have champagne to toast the sunset, but it was a great option for my friend and I who don't really drink.

Nice evening trip on a nice clean boat with nice crew. If you don’t want a boat trip with a noisy band and drunk people on board - this is the place!!’

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a good choice if I can't swim?

What can I actually see from a glass-bottom boat?

The listing mentions coral formations and over 300 species of tropical fish, rays and sea turtles. What shows up on a given trip depends on the day, and nothing is guaranteed.

Can I get in the water?

No. The listing describes no snorkel or swim stop. For snorkeling, pick one of the reef trips instead.

How long is it?

Daytime tours run 1 hour 45 minutes. Sunset departures run just over 2 hours seasonally.

Where is the reef stop?

The listing does not name it. The captain may choose an alternate location in unfavorable conditions.
