About This Experience
This is a sailboat trip rather than a big party catamaran. The listing says Floridays takes a limited number of guests, and the booking maximum on Viator is 24. You meet at the end of a hotel dock, get fitted with a mask, snorkel, fins and a flotation vest, and a crew member explains how to use the gear before you leave the dock.
The three hours break into roughly three parts, according to the listing: about an hour sailing out to the reef, about an hour in the water, and about an hour sailing back. The crew chooses from several reefs on the north and south sides of Key West, so the stop depends on the day, and no named reef is promised. Departures run in the morning (09:00) and the afternoon (13:00).
Drinks are part of the ticket: water, soda, white wine, a selection of craft beers, margaritas and champagne. The listing does not say when the alcohol comes out, so ask the crew at check-in if you want to wait until after you have snorkeled. A fresh water hose is there to rinse off afterward.
It suits people who can swim and are comfortable in water over their heads, because that is what the operator asks for. The listing does not recommend it for anyone with poor cardiovascular health, and it does not mention wheelchair access. As on any reef trip, sea conditions and visibility change from day to day, and marine life is never guaranteed.

What Travelers Say

This was an awesome snorkeling experience!! The boat was small - about 12 passengers, and the crew, Chuck and Jared, were very friendly, welcoming and helpful! Compared to the mega boats, this was excellent for our first time snorkeling. We had a variety of ages and skill levels and all were treated well.
